Enhancing Entrepreneurial Skills: NEET Youth Empowerment in Rural Areas

Entrepreneurial skills are a crucial asset for young individuals, especially those who may find themselves disengaged from traditional paths of employment, education, or training. In rural areas across Spain, Turkey, and Greece, the NEET Youth Developing Entrepreneurial Skills (nydes) project is striving to empower young NEET individuals aged 18 to 29 through motivation and skill development.

NYDES aims to not only enhance the entrepreneurial, leadership, and communication skills of these young people but also to ignite their motivation, assist in the creation of social innovation projects, and establish valuable connections with local organizations and funding opportunities. By reaching out to local cooperatives, youth associations, public administration officials, academic institutions, and the broader rural community, NYDES is fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in these regions. The project's objectives are ambitious yet achievable. By targeting an 80% increase in entrepreneurial skills and motivation among participants, providing comprehensive training to 70% of them in key areas like leadership and communication, and guiding 60% in developing real social innovation projects, NYDES is laying the groundwork for sustainable economic and social development. Additionally, by promoting international cooperation and cooperative entrepreneurship as a viable model for inclusion, NYDES is aligning with the priorities of Erasmus+ and contributing to a broader culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
